Lego just got even more fun (Picture: YouTube/The King of Random)

Now we know what we’re doing with our weekend: making edible, stackable Lego jellies.

Because while normal Lego bricks are fun to build with, you can’t put them in your mouth (we tried, but our parents didn’t like it).

These gummy Lego sweets, however, are not only stackable; they’re snackable as well. Genius.

After a hard day’s building, you can eat your work (Picture: YouTube/The King of Random)

The simple recipe is the work of Grant Thompson, the man behind YouTube channel The King of Random. Random this may be, but don’t pretend you don’t want to rush home and start boiling up some corn syrup and gelatin immediately.

How to make edible Lego jellies

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup of very cold water
  • 1/4 cup of corn syrup
  • 2 packets of unflavoured gelatin
  • 1 pack (85g) of jelly

You’ll also need a Lego ice cube tray (if you can’t be bothered to make your own).

How to:

  • Put the corn syrup into the cold water and stir until it’s fully dissolved.
  • Then pour the mix into a pan but don’t turn on the heat just yet.
  • Add both packs of gelatin and then the powdered jelly. Stir until all the gelatin is mixed in.
  • Set the stove to a medium/low heat for around 5-10 mins and stir the mix every minute or two. When the gelatin is completely liquified, the syrup is ready for pouring into the moulds.
  • Leave to cool for five hours.
  • Start building/eating.
