Homeowner’s Girlfriend Takes On Three Armed Robbers And Wins

This chilling home CCTV footage captures the moment one brave South African woman grabbed her gun and confronted three armed robbers who had broken into her home and sent them running – all while her boyfriend slept.


Driekie Croucamp, 39, was woken by a noise in the house and initially thought her boyfriend, Craven Coetzee, was just making food in the kitchen. He wasn’t, he had fallen asleep in a seperate bedroom, watching videos on his iPad. The couple sleep in separate rooms due to Coetzee needing to take urgent phone calls all through the night, due to his job (that’s what they claim. Really, lets be honest, he probably snores). But when she heard the noises again, she decided to investigate. She grabbed her gun, ventured into the hallway and saw a man coming up the stairs. The men had grabbed knives from the kitchen, and electrical wires – which we can only assume were going to be used to tie the occupants of the house up. ‘I think I screamed “freeze!” and all of a sudden he came at me with a knife,’ she told the Herald Port Elizabeth. The shots awoke her boyfriend, who we see leap from his bed along with a gun that we’re pretty sure was under his pillow. This couple mean business. He runs down to his girlfriend and begins checking the rooms, and turns the lights back off so that the intruders could’s see back in. One sassy internet user said: ‘She’s lucky she wasn’t in the bathroom. Her boyfriend might have shot her through the door and claimed he thought she was an intruder.’ Well played, anonymous internet person.
