It is estimated that somewhere between 60 and 98 per cent of us experience d j vu – the feeling that what is currently happening has already happened before. And in the case of Keanu Reeves’ Neo in The Matrix, it was a glitchy cat which set his mind racing.

No-one really thinks The Matrix is a genuine explanation of our current state of reality do they? I mean there are a lot of unanswerable and intense philosophical questions floating about, and our bodies do some majorly weird shit, but The Matrix is just a film right?

Wrong. It’s all around us. It’s inevitable. Mr Smith knew it all along, and Neo did too.

Normally the Matrix runs perfectly well, keeping us docile while we generate energy for our machine overlords. But sometimes the programming goes wrong and develops a glitch.
