Why Anyone Gets Inside The ‘Cage Of Death’ Is Beyond Me!

Snow is to Antarctica as reptiles are to Australia, and Crocosaurus Cove is the latest venue that pays homage to these prized creatures.

As the name suggests, Crocosaurus Cove in Darwin, Australia, is a daredevil’s heaven where you can submerge yourself underwater with monstrous 18-foot crocodiles.

Pictured underwater, plucky tourists are offered the chance to swim with the huge snapper, coming within inches of its huge jaws and shark-like teeth.

Thrillseekers are contained in a nine-foot-high, acrylic container, known as the ‘Cage Of Death’, which protects them should the reptile – called Chopper – attack.

It’s made to fit a maximum of two people and gives 360 degree views of the crocs as they circle around ominously.

A spokesman for Crocosaurus Cove said: “People have a mix of fear and excitement when they enter the cage, the fear of not knowing what to expect and the excitement of getting so close to an animal this big.

Chopper is a 5.5-metre saltwater croc, weighs more than 58 stone and is very inquisitive”.

Don’t know about you but the last thing I want to be near is an inquisitive crocodile, but hey, the attraction is crazy popular so maybe I’m in the minority.
