School Teacher Shocks Everyone By Removing All Their Desks To Prove A Point
Shock tactics have divided opinion for many years. While I’m very much in the ‘means to an end’ school of thought, I can appreciate that some people maybe upset or troubled by shock tactics. However, that’s not necessarily a bad thing.
I was what you’d call a wayward youth. Constantly suspended from school. In trouble at home. And numerous minor skirmishes with the law. One of the most important days in my trajectory was when I was getting told off for being mean to a kid in my History class.
My headteacher called me to his office, everything looked normal (I would know!) except there was a television on his desk. After telling me to sit down, the head got up from his side of the desk, turned on the TV, and left the room. It was a video recording sent in by a mum, I soon realised she was the mother of the kid I had been mean too. Her words cut deep.
It was the first time I thought about how my words can affect others. From that day on, I tried to turn over a new leaf. That was the day I learnt a lesson that will stay with me forever.
Today is the day these kids learnt a similarly important lesson…
