If there’s one thing you can rely on children doing, it’s making the adults around them look pretty stupid.

This 11-year-old girl managed to sneak her way onto a plane and fly 400 miles on her own, despite not having a ticket.

The child boarded the flight without being noticed by any security checks, a metal detector, the check-in, passport control or baggage claim.

It’s thought the Russian girl, who managed to get on a flight from Moscow to St Petersburg, mingled with a group of adults and children to prevent being noticed.

A police official told the media: ‘An unaccompanied 11-year-old girl was found in the Pulkovo airport of Saint-Petersburg.

What a rascal

‘She had arrived from Moscow by herself without identification or ticket.’

The girl had found a free seat on the plane.

It’s a bit embarassing, as security measures have been boosted since a suicide bombing at Moscow’s Domodedovo airport in 2011.

Airports now require all people and luggage to be scanned at the entrance to terminals.
